Jet MetalTM is an innovative coatings technology from laboratory research LTDS (laboratory of Tribology and Dynamical Systems) of the Ecole Centrale (engineering School) of Lyon. This technology creates the synergy between the simplicity of painting techniques and the sophistication of electroplating metal coatings.

A multiple process opportunities
JetMetalTM allows with the simultaneous projection of two aerosols to plate all types of substrates, break with clean surface treatment industry. The mixture of these two aqueous solutions reacts by a redox reaction on the surface of the substrate, forms a homogenous and continuous metallic film. The coverings obtained are multiple : copper, nickel, cobalt, gold or the silver are examples. Projection occurs at room temperature with tools coming from the painting world (pneumatic guns, pumps...)

A flexible manufacturing facility
The main innovation of JetMetalTM process comes from dynamic implementation of metallic films. Direct spraying solutions on parts surface to metallize is a technological breaking innovation, offering technical advances, economic gains, but also an ecological revolution in the world of surface treatments.

The new regulations in environmental consideration (REACH, chemical releases, energy consumption) strongly constrain industry towards "cleaner" technologies. JetMetalTM method fits into this industrial mutation. It allows manufacturers to integrate technology coatings meet these environmental aspects (reduction of the generation of wastewater, removal of harmful products, lightweight effluent...)
